Saxophonist John Massa is a versatile musician with roots in both classical and jazz traditions. Trained at the prestigious Aix-en-Provence Conservatory, where he completed an extensive study in classical music, John was part of the inaugural jazz class, marking the start of his journey into the world of jazz. Since the early 2000s, John has shared the stage with a host of renowned international musicians, including Reggie Washington, Loïc Pontieux, Bernard Purdie, E.J. Strickland, Max Ionata, Aaron Lordsons, Dean Bowman, Cyril Benhamou, and Julien Lourau. His ability to seamlessly blend classical technique with jazz improvisation has made him a sought-after collaborator in the global music scene.  In 2016, John took on a new challenge, co-directing the iconic Marseille jazz club, the JAM, where he continues to influence and shape the vibrant jazz community.
